I have a 90 quality song, at 100 playing skill. The playing skill of my band members are also close to 100. I use a 100 lvl producer and the most recording quality I can get is 70. How do you get 100 recording quality?

Another factor: the quality of the recording studio. The cheaper the studio, the quicker your quality caps out.

Names are random, and different for each savegame. You'll have to go on Studio hunt, and compare prices.

Each town in the game is unique. The shops have same products at different prices. Some may not have exact items others do have. Some studios offer better quality at a higher price than others.

However, some things are only unique to the city rather than the shop.

Here are some examples:

Every music store in a town will offer you the exact same selection for hiring band members. While the list might change weekly, the music store across the street will always have the same names on its bulletin board, so if you are looking for a drummer with a particular skill, if he is not on the bulletin board in the first music store, you will need to leave town to find him immediately, or come back on a different day.

Every town will offer the same crew members. Sometimes a small town might have a larger selection of decent crew than a nearby major city. Like the music shop bulletin board, it might change over time.

Every town will offer the same selection of Producers at every recording studio.

I try to find a studio that is around $175 per hour. One of my band members has 100 production skills. Anything lower than $170 and I can't get 100%

Every studio is different and has a different ability to enhance the quality of a recording. Since your band member has 100 skill you have no need of another producer. There may be several studios in a town, but each will offer a different price scale based on their ability to enhance your music. Think of it as the difference between recording your songs in a friend's garage as compared to recording at Abbey Road or Electric Lady.

Each studio will tell you how much it will cost to get to the highest level that they can get you to. Make sure you select your own member as producer. 100 quality is the gold standard, and regardless of the hourly rate, the only advantage is the time invested. However, the game still considers recording to end your day, so whether it takes 1 hour or 12 you still find it dark and everything is closed when you leave, just like after a gig or seeing another band's show.

Search EACH record studio in the city that you are. You need, beyond hire the best producer and have high playing skill music to record the music, record in the more EXPENSIVE studio in the city.
