There is a controller setting as soon as you change from keyboard to controller. But because it doesn't see any input from your controller it doesn't changed.

You are in full picture mode?

Also does it works fine in other games?

Did you encounter this issue running the game on Windows or Linux?
If you're running on Linux, you can try the following thing:
1. Select the game in your Steam library
2. Go to Manage (the cogwheel in the right) -> Properties -> General tab
3. Change the Steam Input Per-Game to Forced Off.
4. Restart the game

I am having the same issue. All of a sudden my controller will stop working. I exited and then went back in. The controller worked then EXCEPT for the A-Jump Button.

I am running Windows 10. The controller works fine on other games. In fact, it worked fine in this game until it suddenly didn't.

Love the game, btw, but this issue will need fixing.

Thank you very much :)

What type of controller do you have?

Wired X-Box

There's definitely something going on with the controller in the game. I just tried to play some more and was not able to navigate the menus horizontally with the controller. I could scroll up and down but when I tried to go sideways to get to the sub menus I had to use the mouse.

Also, in the game, my controller started rumbling and would not stop until I exited the game.

The use of A to jump was turning off and on for no apparent reason.

Just an FYI.

We will try to get a wired xbox controller to test in-house for issues.
Are you using the custom steam input remapping for the controller?
If you do the steps that I mentioned earlier in this thread, does the issue still persist for you?

OK, so I tried doing the "Change Input to Forced Off" which did not work. BUT I did realize that the default menu for controller settings for Jump was "Choose Any Key" (or similar words). When I changed that to "A" I got my jump back.

As soon as I die at any point, though, the controller starts rumbling and doesn't stop until I exit the game.

Same issue here on Linux Mint 19.3, an Ubuntu 18.04 spin-off. It's detected in Steam big picture, but isn't recognised by the game at all. I've tried xpad and xboxdrv drivers, but despite Steam overlay telling me "gamepad loaded", I can't move the menus in the game.

I have 2 solutions for this issue on Linux.

1. You either start the game manually, not from steam, and your controller should work then.
2. Or start it through steam but try my solution from below:

1. Select Unbound in your Steam library
2. On the right there should be a cogwheel. Click it -> Manager -> Browse local files. Copy the location of this folder.
3. Open a terminal, cd to the installation dir
4. "chmod +x Unbound.sh"
5. "./Unbound.sh"

The "forced off" option in "Steam Input per-game" under Properties worked for me, thanks. Seems counter-intuitive, but there you go!
