K lite codec pack/ preset saves?
Hey,

Error: K lite codec pack still not detected

So I have been going hard the last couple of days figuring out how to get get 1080p to look better needless to say I am very new to this but I am having a lot of fun and learning quite a bit. with that being said I made sure that my direct x is up to date and working, followed the instruction guide for the installation k codec pack and also installed handbrake for the encoding as well made sure that I have all the HEVC applications. Every time I select the video that I want to play it is still giving me "K lite codec pack still not detected" could it be that I messed up on the installation of k codec? also read another forum about having LAV Is that where I should start?

(edit) almost forgot, I followed additional step in k codec it had me install quicktime not really sure if it was necessary idk if that would conflict. plus! NVIDIA profile inspector but i am still learning how that works so

Understandably Heresphere setting has a good learning curve and I have directed to the guide for it and have taken steps to improving the hardware I play on. I have the oculus rift s so not quite the best but have been midmaxing everything lately to get the best I can out of it. needless to say I was wondering if there was preset setting anywhere I could get? or is there some that could add on to the application to help with getting the setting set.

I am very tired atm its 4 am, just wanted to say appreciate you reading this apologies if what i am running into is a dumb easy fix, plus if anyone has any further guidance on learning the app itself, it would be super appreciated! or any resources in general like understanding more of the encoding processes or how lens work i am super intrigued! just need a tad bit of someone else input. I just started school for i.t and learning how all of this works is pretty cool and helpful in the journey.

Does this occur for all your videos or just a specific video? In your user settings, is the media player backend set to DirectShow and the VapourSynth Max Megapixels set to 0? You can also try to directly install the LAV filters (LAV Splitter, LAV Audio, and LAV Video) from here: https://github.com/Nevcairiel/LAVFilters/releases. I'd also recommend updating your graphics drivers and restarting your computer.

The player defaults should usually be a good starting point, so you don't really have to mess with the settings. If you hover over a setting, you can hold the grip button on your motion controller to show a tooltip that describes what the setting does. There's also an in-app user guide at the bottom of the left side panel.
