Persistent crashing

Since forever I've had an issue where if a video cannot be played with DirectShow/Media Foundation, attempting to play any other video after failing to play those videos results in a "Fatal Error!" crash. However, I also get the same error text sporadically when opening up file lists or the xbvr API. I presume they're for unrelated reasons-- the former seemingly due to trying to play a file before a previously selected file has begun playing. I have the latest K-lite codecs.

Yesterday, I also spontaneously developed an issue only in Heresphere and no other VR applications, where the display flashes on and off constantly (seemingly every 2nd or 3rd frame is all-black) except when the in-app or SteamVR menu is open. If I play a video then close the menu fast enough, it stops flashing. When the app first starts with the menu open, it also flashes-- the menus only prevent this when a file is already playing. Bizarre. Happens in DirectShow or Media Foundation.

I love this player so much, it's almost perfect but these have been real frustrating issues I haven't been able to troubleshoot myself.

First, try restarting your computer if you haven't in a while. I'd also recommend backing up your saved data, and then delete it to see if fresh settings will fix the issue. Saved data is located here: %localappdata%/HereSphere/Saved/SaveGames

If that doesn't help, try updating your graphics drivers. Using Display Driver Uninstaller in safe mode is recommended to fully remove your old graphics drivers.

I'm getting crashing upon attempting to start app also, says fatal error, wth is going on? Fix it

Can you provide the full error message? Have you deleted the saved data? It doesn't get deleted with an uninstall, so you have to manually delete the saved data at %localappdata%/HereSphere. You can also try reinstalling steamvr if nothing else works. Make sure the steamvr resolution for HereSphere isn't set too high.
