You can also stream directly from yt-dlp links in HereSphere. Place the latest yt-dlp executable into this directory: %localappdata%/HereSphere/Saved, then when you're on the youtube video page, press the icon that looks like a play button on top of 4 tiles (to the left of the url input box).
I see. I did check the file properties via windows file explorer, but it did not say the same thing. It did mention AV1, so perhaps it's just a version of that, or maybe something about the files makes it difficult for heresphere to recognize it. I have installed Klite codecs before, I'm unsure about LAV. Switching to direct show did not help either.
I'll try streaming it.
I was kind of hoping it's just a new video format that's not yet supported but is about to be.
I really dont know anything about these kinds of things. But apparently it was developed for android so, I guess because I had to use the android user agent, that's why I got that version. I think some of the files use VP9. Also made for android, as far as I know. Those videos did not work either, maybe because of the resolution.
So, that leaves me with the question. Can one perhaps convert the videos to HEVC? I've never done that sort of thing before. But HEVC seems to work with 8k every time.
