Local USB-C storage support on Heresphere
Does Heresphere support reading files off a USB-C flash drive that is directly plugged into the Q3? (Or a dongle / splitter) OTG support?

Like this:

https://www.samsung.com/us/computing/memory-storage/usb-flash-drives/usb-type-c-256gb-muf-256da-am/

Was searching about this and found another VR video player explicitly supporting this, so was just curious if Heresphere did as well?

Want to say I tried to read files off a USB-A adapter w/ SD Card...and it didn't work in the standard file manager.

It currently doesn't work, but it's on the to-do list. You can stream files from your PC using SMB or using http with the HereSphere web API (apps like xbvr will setup a local http streaming server for you).

That's what I figured based off earlier reading, but just wanted to check. Glad it's on the to-do list!

It's more of a concern traveling with the Q3. Won't have a powerful enough PC on most trips (all?), and no local network as at home. My VR laptop tends to stay at home these days, now that I use a small Surface Go on the road. Carrying a Q3 is bulky enough.

I wonder if I could get the Q3 to work with a local network I setup using a Netgear Nighthawk M1 4G LITE? I think there's a port on there to connect a USB-C or USB-A storage device.

anyway.... have the 128GB version but thinking of returning it and getting the 512GB for now. The price premium - of course - is ridiculous, so if I could just plug in the Samsung 256GB would be golden.....

....but even if I decide on the 512GB....nice to be able to access larger size flash media. I see there are 1TB USB-C flash drives nowtoo...but a little physically bigger then the Samsung.
Its about one year since this post, just wondering is there any plans on support file reading on Quest 3?

It'll be added with the new UX update, but still several months away.
such a needed feature, come up, it would make this app the ultimate vr content app, there are already some players out there that allow this but they are quite bad.

Better late than never I suppose, we might get GTA 6 before this at this rate lol
I am currently looking for a new VR Player. HereSphere looked exactly what i needed but without local USB-C storage this cannot work. Most VR Player have this feather nowadays. Do you have an ETA on the new UX update?
