If you discard time as a factor, it can be considered an upgrade, but the amount of work and time spent to make a perfect Barefoot X is just too much to be ignored and the differences between a perfect Barefoot X and the perfect Invincible Armor would be too small to make the time spent worth it.
With all that in mind I it's highly doubtful you'll come close to one shotting the unit in question.
How much you'll do against a unit with 600 million hp with all those resists on the other hand with a max damage attack is the question. If they're running star body and is immune to anything but magic on that turn, I very much doubt you can one shot that character as well. But with a max level peta star, that might not be the case.
I'm going to use three characters as examples: A character with no unique evilities that help with defense (let's call it X). F-u-k-a (Dream Girl as unique) and my favorite anomaly in this game: the Dragon Zombie (Immortal Body as unique). I have all of them at max stats and they are equipped with Kinder Gardener and Wuss for this example. The other two unique innocents are irrelevant.
Let's say a character with max ATK and without damage boosting evilities such as Krichevskoy's/Laharl's/Kurits' uniques shows up and uses a +9 boosted, 100% chance of critical hit, lvl 50 Super Crosslord, a SS rank non-elemental physical skill. How much damage these characters will take?
X will take something along the lines of 575 million.
F-u-k-a will take 291 million.
Dragon Boi will take 96 million.
"B-but it's an SS rank skill. Only a few skills have such a rank." Okay. How about a lvl 25, 100% chance of critical hit, +9, non-elemental, physical, C Rank Crimson Rain?
X takes 356 million damage.
F-u-k-a takes 178 million damage.
Dragon Boi takes 60 million damage.
"Oh but these skills are at lvl 25 and 50, that increases damage." No problem, both mentioned skills at level 1 will deal 2 million less. Not much of a difference.
"What about Axel/Slumber Cat/Sludge?". They work the same way as Fuka. They just cover less ground than her.
"What about magic?" Okay. Same attacker as the previous example with max INT and i order it to use a lvl 50, 100% chance of critical hit Peta Star at +9,
X takes 375 million since she's just with Motivator and Kinder Gardener
F-u-k-a takes 31 million. She has Motivator, Kinder Gardener, Dream Girl and the evility Mist Cloak, which is the magic version of Immortal Body.
Dragon Boi takes 64 million. He's with the same stuff as F-u-k-a, only lacking the Dream Girl evility.
"But what about elemental magic?" Thanks to Firefighter, Cryophile and Aeronaut, most skills and magic that use those elements become quite weak after Wuss, Kinder Gardener and etc mitigating most of the damage. Don't believe me? The F-u-k-a from the Peta Star example took the laughable amount of 3 million damage from a +9 critical hit Peta Fire (she was with fire element at 99% and the attacker was also at 99%). Dragon Zombie took 43 million from a Peta Wind but only because the attacker had 99% wind element and the dragon's wind element can only reach 25% with an Aeronaut at level 100.
I guess i've covered...most things? If there's any questions, i'll try to answer them as soon as i can.
Guess that means tanking hits is a viable strat with perfect gear and stats. Considering max possible hp is 400m and, with an additional 216m via equipment. Or 148m for most people.
Btw, you can push the hp a bit more than 216m, you just need to make your R41 weapon have all 6 bills as HP boosting bills. MV is capped at 31 after all.
