IIRC, they had a contest where you could enter names to appear on the random list generator for Disgaea 4.
Even without the references, I love the random names you can get for generics.
My first time playing Disgaea 1 on the PS2, I got a cleric named "Pudding Bun" that I turned into my omni-mage. To this day, that's what I name my mage character in all video games (if it fits).
Suddenly a large group of burly Giantmen appear and wrestle you to the ground. "Awright, Pudding!" barks the leader. "Come along quietly now, and you won't get hurt."
These Giantmen will then carry you off to a place called the Last Chance Inn, where you'll have to retire that character just to then roll up a new character who has a more "fitting" name, such as "Valand A'Lanath".
