It's a separate module from the main game. The characters don't carry over.
Nope. There's a limited amount of experience in the module. You can, however, increase your own power via the options and such.
BTW: the tutorial is not brutal, it's just so stupidly hard it's borderline unbalanced. I can still see the potential and fun in the game and do not regret buying it, though.
EDIT: Well I beat the necromancer. Passed the gelatinous cubes and got to the merchants. I really think the Tutorial should be remade to give you all the info you need before putting you in the big fights like the necro. Otherwise if people stop playing the tutorial at that point they'll miss the information.
With some experience towards these types of games, I can't say it is brutal...but it is, wonderfully, challenging.
If I can offer anything per advice, it is
...be patient & thorougly think your way through the fights.
I, highly, recommend the tutorial for its' insights per the info & mechanics of how this gem is to be played.
It feels like a campaign in its own right & I will add...I have had zero (knock on wood) crashes; & that is using a win 7 & win 10 gaming laptops.
btw...GOG version.
It was a nice experience.
Best tutorial ever.
Not quite done yet, & I rarely play tutorials.
I have to agree, this one has been great fun.
The best advice I can give people who are having a difficult time is to take the feat "improved initiative" on at least all of your casters. Being able to regularly go first in an encounter means you can avoid those nasty "oh ♥♥♥♥ my entire party is stuck/dazed/nauseated..."
