Volcano Island Statue Puzzle
I have some trouble with the Statue Puzzle on the Volcano Island on D4. My assumption is that I need to push the statues on the corresponding block where I can find them on the island. But I can't find the yellow statue (might be on E2, idk how to get to E2 though), so I placed all the others and tried to bruteforce it for the yellow statue, but nothing happened. Am I on the right track or completely off?

You are definitely on the right track! I can tell you that you can not access E2, therefore it is not part of the puzzle.

The yellow statue is in B2

Same thing, I don't get it. I've spotted 5 statues : orange A0; purple D1; blue E1; yellow B3; green C3 And placed them accordingly on the grid. For the red, I've tried D4, the actual room where I can see the icon on the map, and I've tried to brute force it by putting it in any remaining position anyway in case I just missed it somewhere else, but got no luck with any of it. Am I doing something wrong ?
EDIT : Got it, that's nasty !

Interesting, for me the statues are in A0, B1, C1, D3 and E3, so it's probably randomized then.
Edit: I found the solution now after putting the controller down and listening to the waves for a while

I only found 5 statues too. I found the ones on A1, B3, C3, D3, and E0. I the last one I have no idea where it's... The one I missed was the orange one.
EDIT: Figured it out.

The statue places are different on different saves/pcs

For anyone really struggling, the key to this puzzle is There's only 5 statues around the island.

а просто скинул желтую вкинул в лаву все получилось

1. There are only 5 statues even thought the quest gives you 6 on the screen
2. You need to push the non-existing statue to the ocean while having the other statues pushed to the position where they are located on the map to complete the quest

Nah that ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ sorry. Who the ♥♥♥♥ figured out you have to push the missing one in the ocean?? Why would you even think to do that? I love this game but that's bs

Yeaaah... that was my initial reaction at first too ; i feel like this is a cool concept and solution to a puzzle, but it kinda feels poorly designed sadly... Not exactly sure how you would improve it tbh...

I don't think that's BS as I was one of the people who thought to do that. My logic was this: if there is no yellow statue on the island, then what should that mean for the yellow statue in the puzzle?

I think there are two unexpected element in this puzzle design which made it feel "arbitrary":

1. All the quests preceding to this one train players to believe every pushable piece is usable in some way. 99.9% of us would think we must missed the extra statue even thought we have explored every tile on the map. It is just unexpected that the designer would place an extra statue as a trick.

2. Why pushing off the extra statue off the board is not good enough (why does it have to be completed removed from the screen)? I don't think there is a good justification for that.

Note: we all love this game and want it to be better and that's why we are sharing our frustrations here in hope of seeing more improvements instead of just venting off.

A potential bug that I run into: the color of the orange and yellow statue in the map (not in the D4 block) looked the same. They all have the same tinted orange color. I had to distinguish them by their "facial expression". Could this be an overlook by the developer?

Although I think plenty of people are bound to struggle a bit with this puzzle, but I also think it's quite fair. There's a clear logical through-line that I personally had to go through when stuck on this puzzle (and though I did try looking for help, I might have done so prematurely as I so often do when stuck on puzzles).

Once you've concluded that there are 5 statues, you have to figure out what to do with the 6th. You might get stuck here, you might get stuck when you push it off the board and nothing happens. But at that point the only thing you could possibly do is shove it into the ocean. (It's also worth mentioning that prior to a patch you could think you need to get onto a tile in Column E to be able to put the 6th one there and win the puzzle, but that was patched for a reason)

And I think an important factor to consider is that (in my personal opinion) that revelation is incredible. A key part of puzzle design is having the player question their assumptions, and I think a twist like this makes you do that. Also, I wouldn't say it runs contrary to the games rules. You've probably destroyed a puzzle obstacle in some way prior to this, and some objects in a puzzle are going to be red herrings or obstacles more than they are useful.

Ultimately, the puzzle might be a bit of a struggle to figure out, but that difficulty and demand for out of the box thinking makes getting to the solution that much more rewarding. And that's kind of always a balancing act puzzle games will walk. The easier a puzzle is, the less rewarding it'll be. And I'm not sure there's many changes to this particular one that wouldn't totally undermine the challenge it presents.

That being said, it did occur to me that a pool of lava being added to this screen that would also destroy the statues could be an excellent compromise. Things being destroyed by lava and fire is definitely a core part of puzzling on the island and the presence of lava would probably lead the player on to needing to destroy the statue altogether.

I think it would be unfortunate if you could accidentally solve the puzzle while trying to brute force the position of the 6th one (you might push it off the board in the process of putting it on each square - I think this would have happened to me), which would ruin the payoff. It's important that it has to be deliberate.
