Stuck on Tidal Reef
I have opened up the majority of Tidal Reef and collected 9 blue gems, but i'm at an impasse. It seems that each major island has some tool you can obtain to help traverse said island and find new areas. I have no Idea where this item could be. My best guess is in the lower left of the map because I have one undiscovered part of Tidal Reef in that corner. Any clues?

It's indeed there. You reach it from the map one to the north. But there is a puzzle, of course.

Completely stumped by the puzzle before that tool though. I think I have the prerequisites for it done but have no idea how to operate it.

If you're talking about the island-wide puzzle just before it, then you have to keep careful track of the prerequisites. The solution is a bit more complex than it first appears. I had to go back to them a few times to have all I needed to solve it.

The tool is in the cave/tunnels.

I am also stuck on Tidal Reef, but for completely different reasons. I am trying to acquire the very important 6th stone, and for the life of me, I do not see a puzzle that is solvable without having the ability to break the blue blocks, which looks gated behind having acquired at least six stones. I am at 24 stars and have made an attempt to explore and solve everything else, save some Volcanic Island progress because I wanted to get more Tidal Reef done.

All I want to really know is which puzzles should be solvable to get to six stones on Tidal Reef. If there are any prerequisites, what are they? I get that I could be overlooking something really basic, but I lost interest in exploring and not seeing a way to progress. I don't want to give up on the game, and I loathe looking for solutions to puzzle games. I don't need a solution. I just want to know what puzzles should be possible to solve in my current state. As far as I know, the game lacks this sort of direct feedback.

You don't need a power to break anything for the 6th gem on that island.

Did you already get the rune stone from the goddess (the big blue shard on her screen)?

LOL So, I had not. However, knowing that was what I needed to do and having that peace of mind, I just went and solved that puzzle immediately. For some reason, I previously thought it wouldn't be solvable until you already had six stones and the subsequent activation. Clearly that was a bad assessment on my part. Thank you very much for the reply!

I really am enjoying the game. I'm going to tear up the rest of Tidal Reef now.

I overthink that one. Puzzle look more hard than it is.

♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥, that was my problem as well! I explored about everything else I could, had 33 stars and a bunch of other stuff. I just thought that I needed to find the last water gem before I could attempt to solve the puzzle! I feel so free now!

I wonder if something could be done to make it more obvious that you can solve the Rune Stone puzzle without any other tool...

Most (All?) of the Rune Stone puzzles are solvable without any other tool.

The Stoney [sic] Cliffs should (?) have taught that, as you need the Earth Rune to progress beyond Stoney Cliffs and can't get any other tools first, as far as I am aware.

Correct me if I am mistaken though!
Kituss Jun 13, 2024 @ 9:52am
That's completely true, taggedjc! The lesson was taught and I absolutely think it's my mistake for not trying the puzzle before telling myself that it was impossible. I was saying "I wonder if something could be done", but I think the game manages to make it pretty clear on its own so I don't really have an answer to that!

It is true that there are times where a puzzle isn't possible without first obtaining something else, however, so there's nothing wrong with giving up on a puzzle if there seems to be something you're still missing.

I am personally stuck on the icy mountain on the new tool that you can get, or does that island not have one?
taggedjc Jun 16, 2024 @ 10:46am
It does have one. You'll need to get a key from the albatrosses to be able to access it.
