Whatever happens with this game, due to my experiences with Apple, my current stance is that I will never attempt to release software on the Mac platform again, and I will encourage gamers to avoid their platform for gaming.
The demo seemed to run well on Windows emulation options for Mac, so hopefully the full game will as well.
Any chance of a Switch release in the future?
The Windows compatibility layer for Mac is called “crossover”, but last I checked, Steam itself was pretty sluggish, and even simple games choppy. Maybe that changed by now but I wouldn't bet on it.
Effectively Wine, of which Proton is a fork, but with a wrapper to run on M-series chips MacOS. May be easier than installing an entire windows VM, if it works and you have the right hardware. And unlike Crossover, it's free open source software.
