Yeah - I'm playing it right now (getting my fix while I wait for Star Citizen!) - win7 64bit SP1 - no issues. Didn't do anything special to make it work.

it works fine for me too, but the only problem i get is if i left click outside of the game screen(i have 2 monitors) and i was not docked then the game crashes but other than that it runs fine on my windows 7 64 bit.

Just bought this game and yeah am playing it fine on wins 7 x64 , but had to set the resolution to 1024x768 in order to run it on High graphical settings , seems when you try hi res with hi settings it will crash to desktop but if I keep to lo Res it works just fine also had to turn of FSAA. Hope this helps , I will have another look at this tomorrrow and if I can improve on the Res or find anymore info I will post here.

Same problem here, doesn't work unless you run at 1024x768 with no FSAA, otherwise it's fine. As for the mouse cursor going over to second monitor, Cursor Lock fixes that perfectly for any Steam game.

Ok so it looks like no one has my problem, i.e. the game doesn't start at all, it's not even getting as far as the options menu to change the resolution, it's just instantly crashing :/

Running without any faffing about on mine (win 7 x64 sp1) 1080p max setting with ingame's 4x MSAA etc.... not a single issue in 4-5 hours play (bought it yesterday). One thing I did was on the installer I skipped the out of date DXsetup. If that is not the issue then it's probably your drivers or lack of admin mode on your account maybe?

All the drivers are up to date. I've tried running as admin and every combination of compatibility option available. Made no difference. :(

list your specs.... could be something obviously like using a craptop not a desktop to play it.

The game is from 2006 and I've been able to run LA Noire and Saints Row 3 so I hardly think it's a spec issue. If it was it would still load and run like ♥♥♥♥ rather than completely crash on start up.

I wish this was it but I have triple checked DirectX and rebooted several times. No dice. I will eventually get round to going through the pain in the ass steam support process.

Win 7 64 bit, I had some missing .dll issues, just copied the .dll's the game req. into the game folder (most were in the windows/system32/ folder) and it worked perfect for me! Good luck all!

Got it finally.. Wouldn't start here either, Win7 x64 sp1.

I login to Win7 with a non-admin user acct and run Steam under the same. That seemed to be my problem, since starting Steam "as Administrator" made this work.

Also manually installed DX9 that comes with this, "DarkStar One\DirectX\dxsetup.exe".
Don't know if needed, but runs at 1920x1200 on high (haven't tried FSAA tho).

GL.

Yep, I had the same issues of things not working, Installed DirectX9, bamf, worked. Helps to remember to reinstall DirectX9 after a wipe. :P

I'm having the same issue, I'm running windows 7 with an i7 core and 2 gb independant video Ram. I reinstalled the game twice, run it as Admin, changed resolutions, and restarted everything. The game doesn't even load and it crashes.
