Indeed, you should really try Freelancer, it's brilliant.
Freelancer is the best but thats 10 years old, Freespace in 2nd, and Darkstar is 3rd... after that I'd put the X series... while they are a lot more sim style games they very boring and long winded.
Freelancer comes close, but nothing can compare to the good old privateer 1 cockpit sight. you just had the feeling that you are really in a vulnerable vessel in space. and it was slow enough, so that one can make tactical decisions.
same problem with X3: cockpits are gone. it feels like you are flying as superman in EGO-sight with a HUD. and the whole logistic system is too userunfriendly
the "physics-engine" of Frontier and First Encounters were too realistic to make much fun
there are no dates with gorgeous women on Steam ...
there is no gaming hardware on steam ...
there is no oxygen on steam, so breathing cant be good.
...
ummm, sarcasm is hard to read in an internet forum...if it isn't...you are a touch-hole...
Now excuse me while I get back to Hello Kitty Adventure Island...
