Picking Up Cargo

Maybe I'm an idiot but I have zero idea of how to pick up cargo in the third tutorial mission. For one, I can't stop my ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ ship, and the reverse thrusters don't keep working when the menu opens, so the second I get close to the cargo container I all of a sudden speed up to full speed. Also, it looks like whenever I move my mouse away from the cargo when the menu is open, the fricking option to pick up the damn thing dissappears.

I was really enjoying this game for all 10 minutes I got to play before I got stuck. I'm probably just an idiot but I can't find any tutorials online that explain it, and while one says you can "cut your engines" I haven't found any hotkeys that do it.

Scrolling the mousewheel up or down seem to affect your speed. At least it does for me.

It's confirmed: I'm an idiot. I was trying to control everything with my boosters, which you could imagine would be basically impossible. Now I understand how you can do anything other than careen towards every objective like clown out of a cannon.

even then u can grab stuff with reverse thrust u just need to know the hotkey for pickup :D
i ceased stopping for pickups when i reaqched bountyhunter and got attacked way too often while mining in rebel systems

I blame the control page. The mouse wheel should have been listed and what it does.
