Using the Werewolf Bjorn
I just don't understand what to do. I can build the first character and run him forward only really struggling with his Gold dependant subclass that is stupidly RNG dependent and very unreliable, but the other 3 I can consistently make it to the last boss on brutal over n over again with even subpar items. BUT Bjorn, nothing...I can't even get past a hard elite fight because he's just ♥♥♥♥. His damage is lackluster as ♥♥♥♥, his mechanic is jank as ♥♥♥♥ and the only viable subclass is Druid and then only if you get the right items/cards. Using hit points as a resource was a seriously dumb idea and I would like to see him built with a rage mechanic or something entirely different. The only good sets on him are the Demon Set or the Bleed set and if you can't get either, then you have to rely on the Elven Set and relying on that set is sooooo bad for learning the game.

Maybe i just SUCK at Bjorn, maybe i just don't understand what I need to do to be good, but playing the other two characters i can get to the last boss over and over, but i haven't been able to do it once as Bjorn. I do play Brutal difficulity and refuse to drop to normal, theres no reason why i should have to if the game is built properly, but maybe i just SUCKKK as Bjorn.

Finish the challenges as it will help with the harder modes. The first 2 classes are heavily reliant on the class items. You need to play the classes as they were intended to be played, which is much different then Percival.

1st class the pelt and the armor work together to give a big strength boost. The starter cards are weak so big strength is important.

Second one going into mind breakdown is very powerful, just need the two class items that have ashen cards on them.

Lunar druid is great with the curse / lunar set combo. Lunar chest, claws, and crystal with cursed boots and any other pieces you find. The lunar helm boots and amulet are the weakest and can be replaced. Cursed boots are essential.

For madman you just need to keep him under 50% health and you get 2 turns each fight. Try to increase max health as much as possible. Choose cards that give multi hit attack and health regen.

Apparently doing challenges upgrades characters. If you havent done them brutal might be pretty hard. Personal favourite was Bjorn eternal thirst variant and keep the beginner axe, generating 5str per turn just seemed to overpowered, rarely did I want to swap it out.

The problem comes in that I can't beat the challenges with him, he's too unreliable. SOOOOOOOOOOO many of his cards are dead picks or dead draws. 1 health for 4 ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ damage? Come the ♥♥♥♥ on, wtf is that? Fighting Dwarves is a guaranteed death...yeah i'd liketo deal 10 damage to myself, buff the dwarf and eat 30 damage, sure lets do that. He just requires SOOOOOO much to be successful its stupid. I did Percival without doing ANY challenges, 0 and by utilizing his knight set or other armor pieces and playing to his strengths i was able to walk myself to the last boss over and over and over.

Bjorn? Naw, you need his legendary or rare cards AND set bonus to do ANYTHING and if you don't get them....reset. It's just ...so dumb that in order to play him at his MOST BASIC you need entirely too much. I sdhouldn't have to play the challenges to get past 1 elite. The fact that Mindbreak requires 2 items to be good or the fact that curse requires an item to even function is ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ dumb.

I do play on the second hardest difficulty mostly because normal is a cakewalk and I can beat it by accident and the hardest difficulty just requires you to get lucky over and over too often to be fun.

No specific items are required to beat the challenges. I was only giving you advice on the strongest and easiest way to do it. With any character, if you want the strongest then certain items will always be required. If you are not interested in looking for the top tier items or the best route to take or the class abilities then just pick items that and max your strength.

For Bjorn the number of dmg written on the card is irrelevant. The dmg you do is based on your strength. What you want is multi hit attacks. That assault card that says attack dmg for 1, 2 and 3, is one of the strongest in the deck because it hits for 3 times.

I am not against buffs, but I am actually really enjoying the health/notch resource. I don't love dealing with the curse, but that part is probably intended to be tricky anyway.

yeah, i love how i can circumvent the high ressource costs of some cards by just playing them in human and use bjorns high selfhealing powers to not really care about the costs.
not to mention you can play way more cards this way.
