Best Strategy for Bjorn?
Just finished the campaign with the first character and now playing with him, and quickly realised that I have no idea how to play him correctly.

Does anyone know the best strategy to do well with him? I'm guessing there are either ways to mitigate his curse effects by minimising the need for his wearwolf form (or getting enough card draw that it matters less) or a way to make curses work to his advantage.

I like to leverage his starting weapon and just ignore the curses, +5 Str/turn is just too good to pass up imo.

So hit up the wounded bandit event for curse boots, then head to the swamp for ghoul event for ghoul finger.
Then buy up whatever curse gear the swamp shop has.
That usually carries pretty easily.

How do you get around the instakill if you do this though?

Also, what are the requirements to get the cursed finger again? I remember the location, but not what you need beforehand.

The ghoul finger comes from the scavenger and you get it after you kill him. What instakill are you referring to?

Once you get to the final boss, you need a different buff for each character to get around an instakill.

For Bjorn the only one i've discovered is the potion made by the goblins, but there are others in the swamp map (unfortunately though there's no way to get there if you encounter the scavanger)

For Bjorn 1st class: You want to end your turn in non-lycan form to not accumulate curse. This becomes easier after you upgrade Composure (after upgrade it does not put a Scourge of the Lycan to the Discard pile). Any cards that let you shapeshift are also good for him so you can plan and end your turn in Bjorn-form.

Since Bjorn can dual wield, so it is often a better choice to dual wield 2 good 1 handed weapons than using fists. Don't worry too much about ending turn in the werewolf form in the last area. You can handle adding some curses to the deck at that point.

The final boss fight with bjorn is different then Percival. You do not need the same potion. There is something you need but not that.

I know. My point is that you still cannot access that potion unless you go down a route which prevents you from getting the item.

Bjorn technically doesn’t need any special items for the millenis fight, you can just power in through and kill the illusions. This is quite hard but doable.
Or you can dispel illusions by visiting the keeper of illusions or w/e he is called on the left side of the castle.
You need to do the event 3 times but after that you can dispel illusions.

How can you just "power through" though?

Because for me it tends to feel like most runs end either because I had no way to increase strength enough to deal enough quick damage, I lacked the needed balm to recover from hard hits or I didn't have enough HP to take on the damage from very high damage attack (which wasn't a problem for Persival when you could just run a Shield of Purification burn deck)

Each Bjorn's class has a powerhouse build. Those illusion-go-away potion or card are good to have but not required to complete the story mode for Bjorn. They just make it much easier.

Quick tip: Focus on cursed items to build up Strengh quickly, also try to find an ember talisman (can't remember the name) which will give you 5 Strength for 1 turn for each burned card. This works for every Bjorn's class, except Stray class.

Doesn't he also have a skill card that makes him immune to all negative sides of the werewolf form (including the gain of status/curse cards) for 2/4 (werewolf) turns?
I think it was called cold blood or something.
