would anyone be kind enough to tell me how to get past the golem of the heathlands please :D

Hi! Sure thing.

First your hero needs to know about golem, so you need to go to the Robber camp and talk to robbers. Then you should go to the Crimson Steppes and visit orc shaman and smoke pipe with him, after that he will tell you about the heather and it would be great to get it. Right after Steppes you need to visit demonic blacksmith and ask him something about more powerful armor and he will tell you about the golem core. After the death in the 3rd biome Mortis will suggest you some rewards for successful (or almost) run. Here you should choose potions and take elven ale (or mandrake root). Now you're ready to survive golem's attack of 150x2. Or you can spend one more run and go to the Rotten Bog and eat mushrooms untill you die and then get insubstantiality effect which is also handy in battle.

But if you don't want to fight you need to deactivate him. For it you need to get a password. How to do that:
1. Visit dwarves with the chest - defeat them, get the chest and after that you'll get the letter.
2. 'Scout' event, where you should help the elf to kill dwarves and then you'll get the password.
3. Next run go to the golem and use the password.
And voilà! You passed th golem (and can do with him whatever you want).

I seem to be unable to gain the password, I went to the dwarf chest three times until I found the secret letter about the general, but when I go to the general, I don't get any option to ask for a password. Do I need to do something for Percival to realize that it is that general from the letter?

Is the chance to get the letter super low or soemthing? I've done this fight 5 times now and still no letter =p

okay so I found the dwarves and the chest but no letter, what now

i've got the letter but the scout event doesnt trigger any new dialogue. no password after 5 tries

i cant believe its the game developer and doesnt even tell / know this

you might possibly first talk a few times with a dwarf in the middle of the map
ONLY THEN i was able to closer inspect the cheast somehow

after getting the letter though and characters saying i need to find dwarven general... nothing happened after i sided with the scout so... go figure....

its crazy, ive been "farming" the events for 30 hours already and still havent gotten a single final boss yet

its been to a point i know the name of dwarven captive AND heal him... ONLY FOR HIM TO DO NOTHING + i got a couple of "cheat code" cards or something that make the fights easier? (like character getting knowledge of enemies enough to counter them)

So what is exactly supposed to happen in this event? You agree to help and fight the fight, then get the dialogue prompt to ask for the password? Does the elf need to die, then you fight?
I've found the letter, find the elf and agree to help but the fight just carries on like normal without anything (seemingly) happening

I'm also having the same issue - I've done the three dwarf chest event (had to do it multiple times) until I got the event where I got a conversation with a hooded person stating that there's a dwarven general that is involved.
If I go to the elven scout, the fight happens as usual but no password pops up,
