Is this a remake of the PS2 game? How close is it to the original?

This game is a loose remake (aka reboot) of the first two Onechanbara games (released on PS2 and localized as Zombie Zone and Zombie Hunters in the West).

Here's a video of Zombie Zone for comparison.

bosses , lead characters and some of the story aside, it's different in every possible way.

Not gonna lie i prefer the ps2 games to this, being able to switch between 4 chars means ill never die in this one
