Lure Fishing

I am enjoying the game and I have to say the fishing mechanics are awesome, especially for a demo. Both the float and feeders fishing work very well...great fun. I just bought the spinning rod and lures and tried fishing with the lures. I must be missing something but so far no success at all. I've tried different depths,lure speeds, and twitching but so far no luck.
Any suggestions would be much appreciated.

My suggestion for spinning fishing is this: cast as far as possible, set the reel speed to 25-30%, and try fishing in different spots at various fishing locations. You'll definitely succeed :)

What works for me is going to weedy areas with lilly pads. ive only used the white lure and the yellow lure. cast out as far as you can then turn you body about 45 degrees of where you cast so the line is coming in from the left or right of the screen. reel in around 30% - 40% speed with a drag of around 60. i just do a constant reel so no fancy techniques. I have only caught perch on the lure for now but not done much testing as im more of a float kinda guy.

Thanks for the help...I tried out your ideas and Caught 5 Perch at the Lily pad venue..I found that 60 drag and 43 speed worked the best and also moving the rod about 90 degrees sideways so that I could keep the lure in the "weeds". The tricky thing for me was telling when to set the hook(rt mouse) since the rod bend was only marginally greater when a fish was biting than when retrieving. All in all it works fairly well and is a nice addition.

Just caught my first pike on a yellow lure at fishermans refuge weighing 4lb

So i can confirm we can catch pike on lures :D
