I found the patch. It doesn't recognize my installed version of Sacred. Is there a trick to getting the patch to apply? Thanks.

I have a CD copy of the game , had no problem getting patch to load ...I had another game on Steam that I tried to patch had problems until I open it up from the hardrive file to desk top , or drop patch file on game file name in the harddrive location. It worked....that and run it as admin. , and go into compatablity issues....and run it on the reccommended settings , I think it was XP.

I opened the config.exe file in the Sacred files and unchecked fullscreen and the game runs fine now in Windows 8.1. Just have to play it in windowed mode which doesn't bother me much.

Great to hear you got it to run on steam .....I have heard others say that unchecking the full screen in the config.exe file with other games on steam , got the games that wouldn't run to work. Sacred Gold is a great ,it is just great to be able to play all the older rpgs from the past .....so far all the 20 or so games I have order during this sale all work on windows 8.1

yeah i got me a laptop and decided to pick up sacred gold for 2.50 because me dad played it all the time and so i decided to try it but it wont work on my windows 8 laptop.. but im gonna try the config.exe thing and hope it works

Windowed doesnt work for me, it runs but the graphics are all smeary. How do I get the darn patch to install? Anyone? I have tried all sorts of thing and it still wont work :(

I tried every possible so called "fix" to try and get this game to run...and nothing, refused to even start on win8..(getting refund)...i hop on over to GOG and buy it and guess what....♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ starts up and plays no problem in full wide screen mode, no need to change file names, or admin rights, or compatibility mode......so wtf Steam?

hi guy in my opinion the newest patches fixed all compatibility issues ..but works the german patch that someone posted on steam for the newest version ?
