Graphics Problem: Weird Tearing and Distortions

I just got this game and installed it. When I started playing I noticed lots of blotchy colors and distortions. I tried disabling videos, turning down graphics, as well as disabling visual themes and running it through an earlier service pack through compatability mode. Nothing seems to work.

I had this same game a couple of years ago on disk with this same computer, and it worked fine! Does anyone know how to fix this glitch? I have an Intel system and a Geforce 770M Graphics Card.

The same problem, it`s something really disgusting. By the way i`m that kind of man who doesn`t afraid of damn glitches so i`m trying to play with all of that damn ♥♥♥♥. I don`t feel my eyes, it`s like party for epileptics.

do you al use win 8 or win 8.1? in win 7 sacred works fine for me in win 8 i have these issues too

I don't think this game is compatible with Intel graphics, but I been unable to confirm this.

Got the same problem, screen is tearin pretty bad. It's making me sick. Unplayable.

This really sucks, I was looking forward to be playing it, but it's unbearable with all the distortion. And I've tried so many different settings...... I just hope someone a bit more intelligent than me comes up with a solution...

this is what worked for me:
1) go into the in-game options
2) set graphics quality to Low
3) uncheck the Atmospheric Animations

Also, in the sacred.exe compatibilty properties I changed it from WinXP 2 to Win8.

I ran into the same problem. I tried all the hints above, but nothing seems to work. Played this years ago, it was great. They need to be sure games work before they sell them. It will not run on this Win 7 even in compatibility mode.

I have definitely confirmed that the game does not play well with Intel graphics card. Just got a new Raedon installed, and the graphic tearing is not there. Those of you that have the tearing, check to see if you have an Intel graphics card. That is probably the problem.

i have the same probem too.
On my laptop i have an amd graphic (HD8530M) card and an intel 4400...
I see on screen only the background .... ;(

I have an nVidea graphics card and i had the same issue initially.

However, doing this resolved it for me.
Opened nVidea control panel and selected sacred.exe to run with nVidea graphics card.
Also turned on triple buffering settings listed there.

Afer doing this, double click Sacred.exe to run.
