FR patch in 2025?

Hey everyone, I'm desperately looking for a french patch working right now. Apparently it was possible in 2014 to change the language of the game in directly in the Steam menu but this option seems to have disappear. Can anyone help me figuring what to do? Thanks!

So, there are a few ways you can easily change the game language:

Method 1

This method only works if you have the PureHD mod (which I recommend getting anyway, since it allows you to play at 1080p without changing anything else). If you go for this method and you need help installing the mod, feel free to ask me

• download this file from google drive: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1rBvcZcOE5rW9TocQYlT-vuvs9CmRdcXp/view?usp=drive_link
  
• rename it from "fr_global.res"to just "global.res"
  
• navigate to the "scripts" folder in the sacred installation directory. If you have it on Steam, it's probably something like : "C:/programs(x86)/steam/steamapps/common/sacred gold/scripts"
  
• create a new folder named "fr" inside the scripts folder
  
• place the file you downloaded and renamed earlier inside the newly created folder
  
• go back to the main installation folder of the game and find the file "settings.cfg"
  
• look for a line called "LANGUAGE: US" and replace "US" to "FR". If there is no such line, you can add it yourself.

Method 2

Unlike the Steam version, the GOG version comes with all languages, so it might be easier to just buy the game on GOG if you don't mind sparing like 2 euros.

Method 3 (?)

As far as I know, there is no easy way to change the language if you have the base game withouth the pureHD mod, as simply changing the global.res file will do nothing. But it's still possible to change the language by just replacing your game files with the french ones. Of course for this method you need to find those french game files first, but it might be possible to find them online by searching for "french language patch" or "how to play sacred gold in french on steam" or similar queries. (searching them in french will probably yield better results)
