You could literally paste the following line into a text file using notepad and that's all you need to do. The following example binds Capslock to 'm' which opens the world map. I like this because it's right below Tab which opens the local map.

You can also bind extra mouse buttons (eg. thumb buttons), the mouse wheel, and create your own key combinations (eg. CTRL-S to quick-save and CTRL-L to quick-load), and bind otherwise useless keys (eg. ScrollLock) if you want.
