Cheats / Trainer to spawn items

I know, there are tools to modify stats of items etc. but is there an actual way of creating / spawning items? Most similar games to this, have the ability to spawn items based on an ID.

Like in a file ID=500 is a basic sword and you type as cheat = "spawnitem_id_500" or is it possible to completly change items with cheats / trainers? Like changing a sword into a battle stick or cannon for the dwarf?
