Game doesn't fit the screen anymore
I restored my pc a while ago and ever since then, the game doesn't fill the entire screen. There are black bars on the sides of it now.
Anyone know how to fix it?

Sounds like the game's video resolution got changed somehow. Generally, the smaller the resolution, the smaller the amount of screen the game takes up.

I'm not sure if that's the problem. I have the game set to run at 1024x768 when it launches, just like before but it doesn't do anything.

Perhaps change something in the Config file:

Go to your Steam Library and right-click on the game. Click on the following:

Properties
Local Files
Browse Local Files

Find the file "Config.exe". Open this file and check the appropriate box. Or right-click on the file and click on "run" and check the appropriate box or boxes.

Extra Tip: If you ever ask Steam to verify the files for this game, it will change everything back. You will have to redo the above steps before loading the game again.

i used to have a similar problem.i read that i had to change my display scaling settings settings to fullscreen, but first i had to lower the display resolution from the native state. i don't know how you would navigate to your display settings on nvidia. if my text seems eratic, it is because i have been drinking, cheers :D

well...what is your native resolution? put it at one below it. that's what i had to do. then just change it back once you fixed the scaling

Windows 10 - works fine,if not,try Sacred.exe - Compatible mode with Win XP SP3

I have new 2K monitor and in Sacred was problem with full screen mode - problem with stretch.
Try to disable FREESYNCH in monitor and change frequency for example from 144Hz to 100Hz or 60Hz.Works fine now!

There's also a solution that allows you to play Sacred in a "kinda" of full screen without losing that much of quality. I am personally using it and im finding it quite good atm. I've got a 144hz 1920x1080 and no problems yet. The program is called Dgvodoo2, if you are interested hit me up and I'll suggest you the settings cuz I can't find the video itself. Have a nice day everyone

It's likely when you reset your computer, the video stretch-to-fit option was not enabled. This is often an option of the video driver (not windows).

1. In the game installation folder there's a file named "Config.exe", run it
2. Select "Full screen" and click OK
3. Open nVidia control panel
4. In the left pane select "Adjust desktop size and position"
5. In the right pane select "Aspect ratio"
6. In the "Perform scaling on" dropdown menu select "GPU"
7. Tick the "Override scaling mode set by games and programs" option (set it ON)
8. Apply
9. Right-Click on Sacred.exe in Game installation Folder > Properties, Compatibility Tab - Change Compatibility Mode to Windows 7.
10. Right-Click on Sacred.exe in Game installation Folder > Properties, Compatibility Tab - Change High DPI settings > High DPI-scaling override by Application.
11. Run the game from Steam or desktop link.

taken from here and modified. Works for me brilliantly on 1080GTX! :lunar2019grinningpig:

no need for dgvoodoo2 or something.
Fullscreen on 27" with 2560x1440, 60 fps, correct aspect-ratio, PERFECT!
