I have been thinking that doing to many side quests raises your LEV so high that the battles get much harder to do. I could fill 3/4 of my pack with healing potions and still not get to the finish of CHA 4. So as much as I feel that side quests are part of the game me somewhat handling of combat leaves much to be learned. So I must learn how to use the combat/spells/healing part of the game and be able to do things better. its just that not using WASD for movement is hard for me because I have to use the mouse to click on a different AI bad guy and with the great graphic's I loose track of things. There are a lot of little things about understanding how the game works that I am a bit unclear about which I would not be comfortable mentioning in a open forum but I will keep at it'
I tried to play Sacred but because of my poor eye sight I can't read the small print even when I use my old 27" monitor.
thanks for all the help have a good day and stay safe
Doing all of the side quests can actually raise a character's level higher than the level of the bosses once you reach them. If you think you'd like to be at an even higher level,or you'd like to collect even better equipment before you reach the bosses, then you could always kill a lot more monsters that are close to the level of your character. In each area, there is a cap on how high the levels of the enemies will go, and that is why it is possible to outlevel your enemies and also the bosses you will find. However, you might notice that the bosses are always some levels higher than the other enemies in the area.
Perhaps what a WASD player has trouble with is understanding that you don't need to move so close to the enemy before trying to hit them with a basic weapon attack. If you left-click on an enemy and hold the mouse button down, your character will run to the enemy and hit them.
If the enemy is some yards away, I will sometimes click on the enemy and leave the button down while slightly pulling my mouse a little bit back away from the enemy. Doing so has the feeling of pulling my character up to the enemy, and my mouse will usually be in a better position on the mouse pad for me to click on other enemies if I need to. Having a larger mouse pad, or mouse surface, helps as well.
Also, on this game if you have a crowd of enemies surrounding your character, you can often leave your mouse key down and just move it from one enemy to another. She will continue to hit each enemy in turn without you having to re-click on them, as long as they are close to her.
I have a defect in one of my eyes that makes reading small print on monitors difficult, so I keep a magnifying glass handy. However, that only works if your monitor is within 12" of your arm's reach (at least, with the magnifier I use). Getting the proper magnifier is important. You don't want it to be so heavy that you are reluctant to use it. It needs to be fairly strong, with a sturdy frame, and give you a clear picture over a fairly wide area.
If you don't know how to do this, I can give you more detailed instructions. It's not hard.
I always start with a fighter. I am not sure (it was late) but when you bring up the save game when you save it a bar appears and you can save and quite or continue with the game. Also when you enter a cave a little box pops up that says "game saved" It was late when I quite and I am not clear how you access the save.
you have any Idea how the last quest for "Pesky Pirate" ends do you? I can't seem to to find the leader so I can get his head and finish the quest.
