OS : Windows 10 x64
CPU : Ryzen7
GPU : Radeon RX470 (4 GB VRAM)
- The command WAITRETRACE : 0 significantly reduce the number of crashes, especially during loading times. Add the command to Settings.txt and STEAM_settings.txt creating a new line at the bottom.
- For those who have PROBLEMS WITH TEXTURES while running Sacred gold (white textures, textures disappear, etc.), try between the different options in "Output API", in the General tab (example: Direct3D 12 feature level 11.0), if not, check "Disable and passthru to real DirectX" inside the DirectX tab of your dgVoodoo.
- It seems that dgVoodoo2 and AMD don't like each other because problems with textures often happen on amd graphics cards (white textures, textures disappear, etc.). You can solve this by using another graphics card other than the dedicated one (for example, Intel Graphics) by selecting it in the "Adapter (s) to use / enable" section in the "General" tab, or you can try the following configuration that helped a friend mine to run the game full screen 1080p with an AMD card: https://imgur.com/p78fcyi
- If you are using more than one screen for the same pc (you will know because in the General tab inside the dgVoodoo, after selecting the GPU you will see more than one "\\.\DISPLAY#" in the Full Screen Output option) try to use only one screen because the dgVoodoo and Sacred are not designed to work properly on a extended desktop (just unplug the HDMI/DisplayPort cable from your GPU/Screen, and keep only the cable of you main screen). This can help you avoid possible crashes when starting the game.
For AMD Radeon RX470:
In dgVoodoo 2.71.2 Control Panel, I choose
Ouput API : Direct3D 12 (feature level 11.0)
Adapter to use : Radeon RX 470
Full Screen Output : \\.\DISPLAY1 (I have dual monitor setup)
All videos, textures and text display correctly now.
I'm using SacredReborn.exe (installed through Nexus Mods)
Thanks Again!
