In short: you can start a single player LAN hack and Slash game, move to Braverock Castle using the underground portals and do the merchant quest, Axe of Galadius Quest and the Bunny quest there. As well as looting about everything INSIDE the castle walls to get a nice bunch of loot, make money and buy better stuff. And don't forget to open up Bravemart when doing that.
After that you can do something similar in Mascarell. There's one quest which doesn't require fighting you can do and you can do some looting as well.
After that, export your character, start in Silver and run the game. When exploring you'll be able to level up enough to get close to lvl 60-70 before running into the end boss.
A single player campaign can be done as well. Start in bronze, do all quests in the Bellevue and Silvercreek area as well as exploring the entire area. Doing the Bellevue quests would get you to lvl 6-7, exploring and questing that entire area should get you somewhere around lvl 13.
Export your char after that, start a new game in silver and you got a nice challenge ahead; without it being too hard.
Thorin :)
Wouldn't Tyr Hadar be a bit too much on Silver?
Complete noob (but played a lot of Sacred 2).
Vampiress, start and play on Silver, picking my own first skills.
I've had two resurrections. One at level 2 (starting to open graves armed with the starter sword, being mostly naked and with just a few healing potions was a bad idea...) and one at around level 10 (undead mage and crew by some ruins. They were quite a bit more dangeorus than I thought and I was too slow on the healing potions).
I'm 60-ish now, exploring some of the northern regions. Still in early Act II.
I think I did Tyr-Hadar at around level 40. It was challenging but not frustrating.
Once I had levelled up a bit and gotten some proper gear and regeneration times going, the only really dangerous enemy I've fought is that dragon in the far W. Two near death events there. Thankfully, it does not seem to regenerate life, so I could flee back and lick wounds and resummon bat pack and wolf a couple of times.
Open (with Notepad) the file Settings.cfg and add the line
DEFAULT_SKILLS : 0
Then Save the file, of course.
Not adding that line, changing the DEFAULT_SKILLS : 1 into the one mentioned.
Addint the line would cause problems.
Thorin :)
Depend at how fast you run through the game. Silver got a minimum cap, but not a maximum cap for the monsters.
If you just rush the main campaign, yes, it will. Especially since Gold is unlocked after you finish the campain, but also got lvl 60.
So best possible option would be to do the campaign and most or all quests in each region to get a balanced level.
Another thing would be to get nicely balanced combo's to deal with "normal" monsters, "mini-bosses" (usually those having the circle with spikes around them) and "big bosses". The latter can usually be killed with a 4x hard hit or attack combo (for both melee and ranged char). Magic characters can que up 4x their hardest CA (i.e. meteor shower for a BM, Celestial Light for a Sera).
Also, don't focus too much at the online builds. They all use complete sets or most parts of a set, which are hard to come by in SP.
Instead, focus at the yellow and golden (unique) items as well. Sometimes a yellow boots having that +50% regen of combat arts is having a much better effect as that set boots with the +1 to concentration.
And finally, kiting is your friend. I did that area with a cannonblast Dwarf, kited the two main bosses there and killed them both without even a singe scratch.
All in all, balance your build, keep an eye at the colours of the rings under the feet of your oponents and you'll do fine.
Thorin :)
Oops, and thanks.
Yeah, it was soon obvious to me that there is a minimum cap. When I was level 7 or so, I saw level 25 Dark Elves across the river north of Bellevue. "Uh, let's not go there for a while..."
Are you sure there isn't a maximum cap? I saw level 49 (or was it 51?) goblins south of Bravesbury when I was level 53, I think. Everything else is usually 5-6 levels higher than me.
c:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Sacred Gold\ ??
The "DEFAULT_SKILLS : 1" line is found at the 8th line from the top.
Thorin :)
Yes and there isn't such a line. Now there is? ...? Silly game. There wasn't such a line yesterday.
edit: When I use the method from Steam to stretch the game to 1080, I get some lines(mostly in menus, but sometimes around doors as well). What's this all about?
Merchant quest is a bit tricky, but can be done when playing smart.
There's a soldiers camp close to that bridge. Lure any opponent in there and the soldiers will kill it for you. It also has two gates, so you may be able te sneak past the fighting.
Keep [alt] pressed to have all kind of names show up; enemies show up in red and make planning your steps easier.
After you completed the quest, head back to the merchant who gave it to you and talk to him. He'll become an active merchant and with the one next to him, shopping at two merchants is possible. And items reset after each visit, so you can shop 'til you drop.
Other than that;
- There's a little girl to the left of the church / chapel asking you to find her bunny.
That bunny is found close to the castle at the top level.
Near the arena is a gladiator names Galadius asking you to find the axe. You need to enter the city again to pick it up.
These 3 quests should be enough to get you to lvl 6; which is a suitable starting level in SP silver.
The game has a fixed resolution and fps. Using 3rd party programs to bypass that may cause problems like you're having now.
There's also an issue with some items being blown up outside normal proportions.
Thorin :)
It's also quite easy to do without getting KOd as a Dark Elf or, somewhat, Seraphim. Just Confuse / Irritate. Could be helluva difficult for some though(Gladiator for example).
Any suggestions for technical side?
