Sacred and Windows 10 - Not Compatible
So, after i looked some hours for solutions, i found MANY tipps but nothing helped.
Whatever i use in the config.exe - dont make any differance
Whatever i have on compability mode - no difference.

My Game didnt even start. For 1 Second mouse loading icon - then nothing
My System:
i5-3570k 3.4GHz
16GB RAM
Asus P8Z77M-Pro
Graphic Card: nVidia GTX 980
Windows 10 Pro 64-Bit (German, upgraded from my Windows 7 Ultimate (german)

I think, i have to delete windows 10 and get back to Windows 7, because Windows 10 has the worst compability ever, it seems. Dozends of games dont work!

have you modified the config file called "settings.cfg"
have you modified this line? "FORCE_BLACK_SHADOW : 0"
enable this setting by replacing 0 with 1. This always gets in the way of Sacred Gold for my systems. If you use a system and an error like "error 0x3" appears it is likely due to imcompatable processor like AMD's APUs or some of Intel's i7 chips.
forgot to mention my specs:
AMD 8 core 4.7 GHz
RAM 16 GB DDR3
Nvidia Geforce 970
OS - Windows 10 student edition
Sacred Gold works fine with these specs just as long as I modify the config files.
mate run the configuration of the game and put option for color 32bit then it will run i have win 10 x64 i had same problem try it go to folder of the game theres a config file u run for the game before run it

Browse game files open the config tab change the color 32bit.

just update it to patch 2.28, change the startup of the game in Win XP and make sure admiinistration licence is checked.

Mine works just great on win 10

After reinstalling and check files and one file replaced, the game starts - yeah..

I got it working by running the testapp.exe in the steamapps folder :)
