fornax dead end?
I am in the area with the teleport in fornax, the way back was one way with timed platforms, and all the ways forward are blocked by fire..am I seriously supposed to just teleport and travel back to fornax to find another way or is there some mechanic i am missing?

After doing all the rooms you should have 3 wheels to turn off the flames that let you progress, the row above the 3 flame row

From the description it sounds like I'm stuck in the same area. Service Hallway A, to the bottom right of the Trash Recycling Station in Fornax.

I had to cross some timed platforms to get here, which do not reactivate from this side. Ahead of me are three vertical blue flames with a rocket firing robot on the other side. As fas as I can see I have no way to progress or retreat.

Am I missing some basic concept that I've somehow overlooked, or did I get somewhere I shouldn't be?

Is there one of the timed switches nearby? They don't really tutorialize them, so that might be the issue; look for something that looks like a giant electrode with a gear around its base, and then attack it with your sword or gun to make the gear spin and activate the switch.

There was not, but I went back in to do a thorough search, and that missile bot I mentioned was apparantly standing on a poorly marked floor switch. Killing it made the blue flames go away.

I'm enjoying this game so far, but man, so many things are not adequately explained or marked

I agree, just did this part and stood next to the blue recharge thing and spammed the gun to move the robot off the switch lol

This can't be the way we're meant to do it surely? I just did this also and that just feels...wrong. But I can't see any other way to go/ anything else to do.

It can't be. Hopefully the devs see this thread

The robot is standing on a pressure plate and you have to kill it with your gun to stop the flames from blocking your way. How is this a hard concept to understand?

To get to the area below that room outside the teleporter, you have to take the first valve wheel that you used in that room.

To be honest, I thought that the gun just stunned. Didn't realise it actually did damage until later. Guess that's the issue, I just spammed the Y shot thinking that was the only one.

The tesla shot stuns, but the regular shot does damage. I don't remember if you get the charged shot at that point but it does a lot of damage.

Two parts here like this, Not sure which one OP was at since both are really close to each other.

1) There is a part you need to kill a robot standing on a platform to shut off the flames. There is an energy conduit to smash for unlimited recharge to the left, I just shot the robot with regular bullets.
2) There is a spot where you get the Save and immediately to the Right of that is permanent fire pillar that is coming from top and bottom. I genuinely missed the Valve Wheel immediately between the fire pillar an the save point for something like 10 minutes because I kept moving past the prompt too quickly for the Interaction Prompt to fade in, as well as I was just oblivious to the background art by that point.
