Demo impression
Hello ! 1st GG the introduction was cool, soundtrack aswell pretty cool and the artwork too.

I didn't finish the demo but there is here my impression :

1) The 1st thing which was "unpleasant" to me was the fact you're lock when you attack. And it's worst when you dodge roll + attack.
Indeed, the fact that i can't close up to an enemy after dodge while i smash attack is really frustrating to me. It's not fluid and what i hate in general (it seems to be rude but pls i'm not it's just how i feel it ^^). I'm a player who need fluidity ! Not small lock attack or whatever in the same way. The distance of the roll could be another problem to this point.

2) About the roll distance, i use to be lock at the end of a air duct if i didnt start to roll close to the entrance. it's a problem here too. Like i died because i unconsciently roll again to unlock me and end in a electric arc and died.

3) About crouch the fact you can't move until you're completly stand is also frustrating. it's not fluid no necessary (i mean for the early maybe at a moment you will need to be lock 1sec before be able to move idk, i dont think). Probablement make her crouch walking could be more satisfaying if you fix the problem linked to the both problem cited above.

4) In général i think that offer us a better general control of her, like "Hollow knight" or "Ori" (don't have other reference in my mind it's late xD or soon..:p)

5) The feeling with the blade. Suffer from the rigidity of the gameplay. isn't fluid it's "Castlevania-ish" and i'm not fan of it. Like at all :/

5) Wall jump. I think it miss some animation right there. It's too "simple" that she's not lean visually on the wall and through out of the "immersion". ( i would add that the classic jump left right left right instead be able to jump on the same wall for change to climp was for another time but why not if you like it :) it's just my opinion héhé)

6) Dialogue. I said it 2 years ago i would prefer voice acting there. The straight white classic text didnt catch me and push me into smash the "pass" button. I love Lore, i love immersion, and sometimes when i was telling myself "omg i will miss so much" i'm in a long dialogue and didn't regret it at the end.

7) oh i was close to miss it : in the menu with the badass pixel art as a title the "start option and quit" section is...back to classic text , text selection it could be more visually in the ambiance of the badass title animations ;)

8) Oh and i missed too that the manipalation requiert to use the gun is not intuitive to me. Maybe i had to play more to be able to "counter" that feeling? i don't know.


In conclusion, i think the feeling i had about the sensation of the gameplay isn't representative compare to what i've seen. I'm not sure if you want change it but thank you to let me test it before i make a choice. I'm obviously aware that is a demo and things can change so please see it like a help instead of a "another guy who complain".
Pretty often we are too far away of the task to make a game and aren't "sensibilized" about the effort you put in here but it's the hard lie reality. Flowers & glory come after.


Keep enjoying what you're doing (it's the key to be motivated :p) 1st for you (it's a order soldiers !) and for us. Globally i could say we are pretty sensibilazed about details and good will you put in your game when you make it !
