Difference between Nomad's Plate and Pocket Magnet

Both reduce the number of parts dropped on death. Nomad's Plate seems to be straight up better or am i missing something?

I believe that the pocket magnet keeps the parts that you lost on death in the area where you died, like the Shade in Hollow Knight, while the nomad's plate reduces the amount of parts that you loose on death.
