How to find antique rags?

I have been looking for antique rags to make the curtains for the brothel, but nothing appears to be dropping them. Am I looking in the wrong place?

They are an ultra rare drop during the mission with Karos. Someone also said you have a chance of getting them from kobolds. Be prepared to waste a couple hours just to get one of them.

First you need to get 'the news' from the bartender. Why so few do this puzzles the hell out of me... talk about a standard gaming convention. Anyway...

Eventually he will tell you that the guy in the corner (Soran) is a vendor that sells special items. Buy them from him thereafter.

Well it's 10 gold for what is mostly useless information. And the fact that you just have to spam that once per day to unlock the lake is insane.

It is the only way to unlock Soran as a vendor; I'd hardly call that useless. Besides that, money is a trifle in the game since you can literally fish your way to max level and THOUSANDS of gold before you hardly get started. There are only 6 of the news items. Are you seriously whining over 60 gold?

You can also unlock the lake by simply buying a fishing pole from Janet.

*facepalm*

You are the type who won't do a thing then wonder why you can't progress the story. Your choice dude. Again, things are there for a reason. *shrug*

You can also use the steal spell on kobolds in Melkor's realm to get them.
