I figured out how to get the seaweed and I know how to make this tea, but I can't find the bones. They say Soron sells them, but I don't have any, even though I've talked to the bartender 100 times. How do I get bones?

You need to get the news from the bartender. Eventually he'll tell you that Soron sells unusual items and that opens him up as a vendor. Bones can be purchased from him, iirc.

I tried to get them, but nothing works. I paid 10 times for news about Soran. But even this didn't give anything. Maybe something special needs to be done?

There are about six or seven 'news' items all told. One talks about Janet, another about Lily, another about the two guys at the bar, another about how you can make gold at the lake, and one of them tells you that Soron sells 'special items". That's when he opens up as a vendor. In fact, at the start of the game I do nothing but rest and go back for news items until I have them all.

I'm on my third play through and it has worked like this every time for me. It's pretty straight forward so I can't imagine what could be wrong unless it's a bug.
