How To get algae?

I need algae for the quest for the lady in the church but have no idea where to find it at though.

Clicked on him but there is no option to buy. I can only play black jack with him.

come at earlier time afternoon maybe. Theres a buy section from Soran Im certain of it.

You also get it if you pull your fishing rod out before a fish bites.

Okay, I figured it out. For whatever reason Soran doesn't have a buy menu for me, I'm guessing it is a bug for me. Anyways i was able to get it from fishing. Cast your bait into the water and have a fish bite and start the little mini game. However don't reel in the fish and when you fail the game you will get algae from it.

Hmm, thats strange. Maybe u need to do something in order to trigger the buy section from Soran. Soran is holding quite a bit of rare items for alchemy and can buy off any gems from the players. Theres couple of ways to get algae though: going into Melkor's realm fighting through those levels to sometime get algae, talking to merah at the lake to exchange for random items also can get algae.

Alrighty, finally figured out how to get a buy menu from Soran. Just had to ask Orson the bartender about any news for 10 gold and one of the prompts was to ask Soran about his secret deals and that finally gave me the option to buy stuff from him.
