"Good or Edible Food" side quest

Does anyone have an active "Good or Edible Food" side quest? I bought the ingredients before starting the quest, and now the cook doesn't accept them, telling to buy from the traveling vendor, who, of course, can't sell me another set of quest items.
Someone on discord said that it's possible to progress the quest in coop.

Did you talk to Arif before going to the cook..? I also bought the food first, then waited for the main mission to find Valerie, Optional part is to check on Arif etc...l

Yeah, I also bought all three of those food ingredients from the vendor long before I accepted the main quest, yet I still managed to finish the optional part of the quest.

We all did the same thing but somehow OP is unable to proceed due to bug, that's odd.

I can finish the optional part of the main quest (visit Arif in prison) and go on ahead to the Sunken city. The topic is about the side quest that he gives you.

I can finish the optional part of the main quest (visit Arif in prison) and go on ahead to the Sunken city. The topic is about the side quest that he gives you.

I wasn't aware it was a side quest, I actually thought that was part of the optional quest.

But regardless, after visiting Arif in the prison, I talked to the cook and he had me choose which ingredients to cook.

EDIT: And we all bought the ingredients before starting the quest, but you got bugged instead. I'm just curious what caused it.

Maybe because I bought the ingredients from the vendor not in the dungeon, where it is supposed to happen, but went back to the first map to collect one last piece of lore, saw the new items in the vendor's stock and bought them there.
