i changed smoothing value to 0.0 from 0.5 and i THINK.. its either gone or much less. if anyone can confirm all the better.. in any case its perfectly playable like so (not that it wasnt before... but felt a little weird)
I've tried to make these changes but it seems that nothing changed.
I also think that there is some serious mouse acceleration going on here. Maybe that's what ♥♥♥♥♥ with my brain because I can do miniscule movements but as soon as I flick my mouse slightly, the camera spins 2-3x on its own axis... I've set up the mouse sensitivity and as long as I don't do fast mouse movements I am good but man these mouse controls are absolute garbage.
"game_camera_sensitivity_x": 0.050,
"game_camera_sensitivity_y": 0.050,
still would be very grateful to turn that ♥♥♥♥♥ smoothing off. :D
If I recall correctly, Surge 2 which was also made by Deck 13 at least had a config tweak that disabled mouse smoothing.
Don't get me wrong, I enjoyed Atlas Fallen when it was released and I'm considering checking out the new update, but it really grinds my gears that the mouse smoothing/mouse acceleration issue hasn't been resolved.
That's fine if you prefer playing Atlas Fallen with a controller, but I just don't understand what compels people to tell those who prefer mouse & keyboard the equivalent of, "I don't care about what issues you may have with a mouse & keyboard, just use a controller."
Like, why? What is it that you hope to accomplish by adding less than nothing to the discussion? Are you under the impression that mouse & keyboard players are unaware of the existence of controllers and that you're shedding light on the topic of computer peripherals?
I 100 percented the game when it initially released with mouse & keyboard on the hardest difficulty setting. I still would prefer it if the abomination that is mouse smoothing/mouse acceleration could at least be turned off.
It just baffles me that when it comes to mouse support, raw input isn't the standard.
Perhaps you just didn't enjoy the reflection of the mirror. :Shrugs: Be careful and check under your bed, Sweet Baby Inc and the Woke™ boogeyman might be hiding there.
At the end of the day, it's not a mystery that controllers are an option. Not everyone wants to use a controller and it's beyond tone deaf to tell PC players to suck up any issues they may have with a mouse & keyboard and just "use a controller".
We know controllers exist and we'd rather not use them. I own a controller, doesn't mean I want to use it all the time as I prefer to use mouse & keyboard. There's plenty of games that at least have the option to disable mouse smoothing/mouse acceleration, including their previous game (The Surge 2).
