Incinerator Part 2 RNG Strats
Title is self explanatory. I'm looking into strats for surviving the RNG portions no hit. I have found out a couple of methods that don't always work, but surprisingly don't kill the run right off the bat either.

1. Stand in a corner between four tiles:
This one seems to be the most commonly used by those that have managed to get the achievement or that are currently attempting it. Personally I don't like it that much. It requires the player to focus on four tiles at a time. It demands a lot of attention.
2. Stand at the border between two tiles:
Definitely my preferred method. It sticks to the same idea as the last one but reduces the number of tiles to focus on by 2. There's always the off-chance that both tiles you're standing on could lit up and screw you over, but until I find another method that is more effective and less taxing than the last one I'm not switching.
3. Run in a straight line:
No, I'm not kidding. Surprisingly on many attempts of mine running in a straight line has led to some potential successful runs. If a tile is about to lit up in front of you just let go and run the other way. And if a lot of tiles are starting to light up on that row you're running on just switch to another one. Not fool proof, or even a decent one, but you can get a good run with this strat from time to time.

These are some of the strats I use. What about you? Do you have a strat other than the ones I've listed? Please share it with me and others like me looking into getting this achievement once and for all!

Best strat is maxing out your prayer level and luck stat before attempting it.

I got the achievement. Turns out I got it by mixing the 1st and the 2nd one and just praying.

This achievement killed my motivation to 100% the game. It sucks lol. Every time I have a potential win I get RNGed out in the second random tiles segment.

Sorry for the necro, but I wanted to share my own experiences after finally coming back to grind it out after I found out about the upcoming sequel. Had nearly a hundred runs before it finally happened... If you already have it by now, congrats! And if not, my deepest apologies.

I tried all of these strats quite a bit, and the most consistent was by far the four-tile strat. Staying in the center and moving as little as possible gives you the most room for error in case three of them all light up at once, but you will still get screwed over from time to time when all four of them light up, or a tile goes off almost instantly after lighting (the fact that the time between light-up and flame is also semi-random throws a whole new element of frustration into it.) Overall I'd say that after I got the hang of it, somewhere around 1/3 to 1/2 of my runs made it past the first wave -- obviously had a lot of painful encounters with the second phase, but it eventually all lines up.

The two-tile strat is easier in terms of reaction time, but requires a lot more luck since it's much more likely that you will be left with nowhere to go than with four-tile. I had moderate success with it in the first wave, but I never succeeded with in in the second.

The running-back-and-forth strat is surprisingly also pretty viable, but it sometimes requires breakneck reaction speed. You can turn around to avoid one tile lighting up and the one right behind you will also flare up. The one kink is that since you need to double-tap a key to run instead of, say, holding Shift, sometimes you'll slip up in trying to get your run going again after you stop, and that can leave you stuck on a tile when it goes off.

Ultimately it comes down to how much you want to balance the reaction time requirements with luck -- and considering you have to go through the whole first phase every time you want a new attempt, going with the most consistent strat possible will be the least frustrating. Just find something to keep yourself occupied during Phase 1, and you'll eventually get it with enough tries. It feels so out of place considering how tight the rest of the game's battles are, but so be it.

Good luck to anyone still crazy enough to go for it -- it's a challenge that is not likely to be won, but that doesn't mean it's not possible.
