Brilliant looking game, but why the profanity?
I will be playing the demo over this weekend based on a demo review from Davidvinc (Youtube) - my only real concern is the profanity/cursing in the dialogue. I have the suspicion that it will lower my overall appreciation quite a bit.
I believe I will be able to look past it and enjoy the game overall, but it's a shame it's in there.

you're saying that like it's a fact when it's just your opinion

I backed this during Kickstarter and would actually buy it explicitly because it's not afraid to use profanity which people historically have used because it doesn't go overboard and use it unnecessarily. Certain characters are better represented through their use of profanity, whilst a priest, princess, or knight should not have profanity in their vocabulary, a vulgar cutthroat thief most definitely wouldn't care about cursing or not. Putting kiddy gloves on a fantastic game like this would only ruin it for many others, myself included, so whilst I get your point, I wholeheartedly disagree with it and it's a question of personal taste and how much people want to get into the fantasy world.

The profanity was a surprise but it is not over used.

If it uses adult language, then it's for adults. Maybe it's not for you.

My only complaint with profanity is when it's used so cringey, trying to be edgelord.

Some people cuss some people don't. As long as everyone is not dropping bombs and works for the character I see no reason not too.
Most of these games don't have cuss words so they can reach as much of audience as possible. This game seems to be made for all those people who played and loved the last generation of RPGs. You know before they all thought everything should be an action game.

My wife swears like a sailor, hope that helps.

I rather they straight up say the word, or have a profanity filter. It's super annoying when they walk around eggshells with swear words like xenoblade chronicles 3. That game made me hate non swear words that borders cursing.

Anyone play breath of fire 2? Remember having to kill that gold fly underneath that frog castle. I think that was the first time I saw the word "damn" in a video game. I was so caught off guard. Anyways, years later we have games like GTA and many other great examples. Alittle cussing in what looks to be a great rpg isn't going to hurt anyone. Put on those big boy pants and try to enjoy.

Some coarse language is also utilized, though not for the mere sake of it. It’s firmly incorporated in contexts where their usages make appropriate sense depending on the type of figure present. Further, this language aids the world’s diligent depiction of realism. A well-honed equilibrium is struck, so there’s no needless shock value meant to elicit shallow reactions.
