When to "cash in" rewards?

So I've progressed a bit and unlocked some rewards. MY actual chain is 18 right now

I ask myself, when I cash in the rewards, is my chain broken and had to be build up again?
The possible amount of rewards are limited.

Worst case, I cash in some 18 or 24 rewards, and I could lock myself out of the 120 chain reward.

I could need some clarification. Does anyone have an answer?

Any time, it's progressive. As in you will not lose any rewards, they will just keep unlocking.

There really should be a tooltip or tutorial hint for this, since you're not the first person asking :)

You can cash them in immediately. It doesn't break your chain or anything like that. I was worried about that too.

Like the rest have said, the chain is how many objectives you have done that link up, there is a reward for that too so make sure to check that for milestones as well, the rewards for doing a panel doesn't break the chain.
