When is karlson actually releasing?

I'm really not trying to be rude but, i feel like Dani is not working on karlson at all.
He keeps recycling (Basically stalling for time) with short 5 to 10 second clips on his other channel, then when he ran out of clips he urgently made a video on Dani2 then right after that released another clip from the video he released on Dani 2
I understand that he's working all alone on Karlson, But if he: Stopped recycling, Stopped participating in schitty game jams, Didn't move 90% of his time into making karlson to playing among us 3d with his friends, stopped making small low efforted games for no reason that no one will play (like that fall guys remake), Karlson would be released a really long time ago.

Now, before you say "BRO U CAN'T JUST TELL DANI WHAT TO DO HE CAN DO WHAT HE WANTS HE DOESN'T ALWAYS HAVE TO WORK ON KARLSON"
The point is the things he is doing is really slowing down the progress of karlson, And the things he is doing is really pointless.
Why is he creating games when he has a really good and hyped game upcoming?
Why is participating in game jams?

And the biggest thing that's slowing down game progress, Him speedrunning minecraft
Why? Just why?
It's been a year, he started making karlson in mid 2020, And if i misheard him, he said on one of his streams to someone who asked "When is karlson releasing"
i most definetly misheard him, but i think he said "It should be done around the end of the year"
Nope.

And i understand that he should take his time and not release a rushed garbage fire like Cyberpunk, But at the same time he should work a bit faster on it

You know he is still working on the game right? It's just he isn't able to upload it onto YouTube, due to it spoiling to much. He said that in him adding new weapons to the game. So he probably is working on Karlson along with all the other projects at the same time and you probably wouldn't know how long it takes to make a game.

I know this debate ended a long time ago, but as someone here already said, indie games take an extreme amount of time to make. Why did he decide to work on it then? Because when you make even a tiny amount of progress in developing a game, you get extremely excited and you know that youre closer to the goal. i know that from experience, believe me.
Also, in my opinion, the games he is releasing are all fun to play as well. For example i REALLY enjoyed jelly drift. Thats just my opinion tho, think whatever you want to.

however, its a FACT that dani hasn't handled this badly. like come on, dude just made a game literally for the memes, and people loved it so much and the game got so much positive feedback that he decided to make it the real deal, he was essentially pushed into this position, anyone else in his shoes would've definitely done the same. but making a GAME-GAME isn't that easy, and he hasn't done anything like this before, an official game that will be judged by the standards set by the current game-developing market. so it's understandable that its gonna take him time, he wants it to be good, really good, this isn't just beta karlson anymore. at least he hasn't left us in the dark, without any idea what he might be up to, like other indie developers have done in the past. he said he's working on it.

the "problem," i guess you could call it, with indie games, is that they usually start with a raw cool concept, a lil project just for fun, but the concept is actually really good, and people would love to see what this out-of-the-mold idea can actually become. this means that from the start, someone that wasn't expecting to create a great game, is suddenly expected to do so, because people want to see what this little project that belongs only to them will become. therefore, people that love and support the project are cursed to restlessly dream about such a game, and the devs are cursed with this constant judgement that is the expectations of what their games can become, and so they take their time to make it what people expect it to be, working their ass off; and the supporters cry in their sleep because it feels like they will die before they even get to see the game they were promised, a day feels like a year.

ultimately, there isn't anything anyone can do, one has to understand the devs also get tired from time to time of the job that is actually creating a game, and they can't simply spend every ounce of their time to deliver what they promised. we're all just victims of our own circumstances. dani is a cool guy, and a great dev creating a great game. sometimes i wish that i will wake up the next day and suddenly see that they announced a release date for karlson, i literally can't wait, but i have to. it's the least i can do.

The only thing I think Dani has left with karlson is to flesh out the levels. The reason he hasn't done a devlog on it is because if he were it would be spoiling the game. He has gotten to the point to where he cannot post more about the game without spoilers (At least that is my understanding of it). He is doing these little projects to not only test things like integrating a game into steam, but also to take a break from developing Karlson, which must get tiring after a while. He is a pretty popular youtuber which means he has to upload somewhat regularly, and a good way to solve this is to make small one off games that fufill youtube, and also give him a break from Karlson.

What happened is Dani made a small little tech demo to make his first 3d game and it got super popular. He started developing it into a full game and releasing videos along with the process. Then to keep his channel alive while he developed boring stuff he made one off projects. You'll also notice he's trying to keep the Karlson hype, which I feel is slowly waning, by mentioning how you should wishlist it and putting the wishlist feature in Muck. What would have been a good idea was to develop the game almost all the way then upload the videos for hype so people will buy it, however Dani didn't know it was going to be a full game so he couldn't have. But yeah the Minecraft speedrunning was the worst offender, I'm sure he just got bored of making Karlson levels, but he can't really say that cause it sounds like he's giving up.

If he's spending the holidays, i fully understand, but the things he is doing which are just pointless?

Something that would be understood: having an ill family member, spending the holidays, on vacation, or has to have surgery, be in a hospital, etc.

But at the same time, does he spend his holidays for an entire year or something?
