A General Thread for Puzzles
So, I was stuck on one puzzle and asked for help ( thanks again for that )... and now I'm stuck again.
I figured might as well try making a thread for general puzzle help so I don't clutter up the forum- feel free if you'd like to ask for help and if I have any insight I'll try and help as well.

Anyway, I am stuck on a puzzle in Room #3- the one where you need the two halves of the coaster to activate. I have no idea what the puzzle wants from me or how to solve it- so any sort of advice or even just flat out the solution is appreciated. I do have the two halves of the coaster, so the puzzle is visible/I can check and see if a solution is right.

For the coaster puzzle

Hint 1: This one is easy to overthink. All you need to do here is some matching!

Hint 2: You need to light up the segments that are given to you on the coaster. So A# would mean to light up A in the # column. However, there is one last trick; One of the symbol/number pairs shows up twice...

Hint 3: Pressing a segment twice is the same as just leaving it off. Don't worry about lighting up that one!

I'm in Room 3 looking at the Bar Fridge combination lock I know the bottle labels are relevant, but I've counted by colour, by label, checked the cupboards, etc. and I keep coming to more than 10 per colour. So I'm utterly baffled and would appreciate some hints.

For that puzzle

You only need to consider the bottles on the three shelves directly above the fridge

Specifically the red bottles

Cheers. I was massively overthinking it. I also worked out the lockbox on the table.
I shouldn't have listened to Chris going on about the number of bottles!

I also found the mysterious spot-the-difference screens.

Now I just need one more heart symbol to match the other 3 and I should be free and clear.

Does anyone have a good explanation for the first set of puzzles? In what way do they involve "seeing the world through the eyes of a child/adult"? I was able to find the solution to Chris's puzzle by counting the number of "holes" in the numerals, but for some reason 4 didn't count as having a hole, and I don't understand why. Is there a better explanation for how to reach the solution? I thought Chris saying he wished he had his phone might have been a hint that it had to do with a dial pad for phones, but I couldn't find any connection.

You had the right reasoning. It's the number of enclosed spaces per number.
The implication being children see shapes, and adults see the meaning of the numbers.

The computer wants a 4 character answer

You might need a number

There's one source of time in the room

What if you typed it in backwards?

On an unrelated note I'm stuck in the third room.

I need to get the Key out of the hole in the floor
But nothing will combine with the magnet with a hole in it. Not even the tape or handcuffs

Have I missed an obvious solution somewhere?

In regards to the third room. I don't know how to really hint at it, but I'll try-
Look for something red and decorative.

Pretty obvious solution-
There's a drinks cabinet you can open both sides of. One side has a different item you may have picked up already- but there's also a wine/alcohol bottle that has a red decorative wire wrapped around it. Take that and use it with the magnet.

I gave puzzle too much credit. I thought it wants me to mirror arrows and tell new time in reverse. When its actually wanted something so simple.

I'm stumped by Room #2. I've gotten the first half of the scissors from the vent, the screw, planted the first seed... and can't see anything else to do. I figure I can get water from the sink if I have a glass and can then water the seeds, but can't find a glass.
