Can't interact with the first customer who comes to the counter.

Can't interact with the first customer who comes to the counter.
And the game seems to stop here. I threw all the bad food into the garbage.
A homeless man outside wants a free meal. There are no more meals left in the store to 'take'.
That customer stands in from of the register forever.

There is nothing more to interact with in the game.

Is this an incomplete game or something? What did I buy??
Maybe very buggy or something.

I had to restart the game. This time around. Instead of putting the food garbage into the bin. I gave it to the homeless man instead. The man took it and walked away...

This did not seem to move the story along. I went back into the store and that same first customer was still standing there as usual. Doing nothing.

This time however; I found an Item Scanner by the register! This was not there before in the first run through. Weird.

I took the scanner and tried to use it on the customers items. No good. Nothing happens. It does not seem that the scanner works on anything in the store either.

Like... is this game very broken?

If I restart the game again. Will something else pop up that was not there before; and maybe work the next time?

Why won't this first customer do anything? Why does he just stand there.... I can't interact with him. This is really weird.

It's almost 2 months after you posted so you may have already refunded the game, but on the off chance you haven't, when you pick up the scanner you scan the customer's phone to complete the purchase (it should be on the counter in front of them). Sorry for the late answer, I hope it helps!

That did not work on my first play through. That scanner did not function at all. No matter how many times I tried.

Oddly. I restarted the game.
On my second play through. That scanner worked! As you say.
