Requirement for Endings?

I just finished my first playthrough and got Ending 2. I fed the homeless man, got the Lucky Charm, used the Talisman to exorcise the door before opening it with the key. On Night 4 I watched the tape and died.

So do I just not watch the final tape on Night 4 to get Ending 1? Is anything that I previously did required or not?

I don't want to mess up and waste like 1 hour and get the same ending again, so I just want to know for sure.

There's basically no difference at all to get Ending 1, you just need to not watch the tape and then send it to someone else. Then you get the backstory and credits.

I didn't realise the Talisman and Lucky Charm were required to open the door since that was the only thing I did my first playthrough. So I wasn't sure if it was needed or optional. I understand everything now, thanks!

You know the food that you take off the shelves and throw in the trash behind the store? You can give that to the Homeless Man!

Good Ending = Put the VHS Tape into the box on the table to return it to the sender
Bad Ending = Watch or throw the VHS tape into the trash
