Can't install the patch

I decided to start playing the game after a few months or so of it collecting dust.

Much to my dismay however, every time I try to install the patch I'm met with two error messages, the first one saying "The specified path is not valid" and the second saying "Must be installed on the STEAM version of the game".

The patch defaults to the original path of the game's installation folder and I am playing the game on steam. Why does this occur? Is there a solution to it?

You had downloaded the wrong patch I reckon. There're two versions pacthes. One is Summer memories and one is Summer Memories plus. If you owned Summer memories（base game) and DLC, go for the plus one pacth. Otherwise is the base game patch.

Much obliged. I searched up the correct patch (v2.3, the one I tried downloading originally was v3) and got it working.

Im having the same problem and yet im using the correct patch, help a brother out?
I live in the united states, could this affect it?

Did you install the v3 patch or the v2.3 patch? v2.3 worked for me.

Otherwise, if you don't have the DLC this one should work for you.

I'm having the same issue but with a different game from kagura, there was only one option so I don't know what's going on

i was battling today with this so i had the right version but i realised my other games weren't installing as well so i went to settings downloads and in the downloads tab disabled game file transfer over local network and everything worked so if you have the right version and doesn't work try this :)

Found a solution for finding the correct path. At least on Steam Deck it's really hard to find the correct folders, I found the easiest solution is to use steam to find the local folder, and then link the directory to the desktop (Linux speak for creating a shortcut). The patch installer will treat the shortcut as the folder itself and it will work.
