If you expect it to be just as good or better you will probably be disappointed, If you go into the game with no expectations you will most likely have a good time.
I will try to be not biased as possible.
Before release, we had a pretty long closed beta test and were thinking that everything is great based on players feedback. But on thousands of players and not only core hardcore audience it turns out we have plenty of work to make Trigon: Space Story more accessible to everyone.
This is a hardcore roguelike strategy game where major meta progression is you learning to make a fast and right strategic decision to increase your chances to survive in a dangerous space.
After release, we got giant players feedback and it was incredibly helpful. We always talk with players, analyze reviews|feedback|streams, and make a plan of updates based on this. We already shared 5 Patches and will continue working hard on further updates. All major bugs were fixed already. Now it is more about balance changes, quality of life, minor bug fixing, and additional content.
If you would like to share your questions, suggestions, or something else - you are very welcome here or on discord https://discord.gg/Sx3ZypU2VU
We are dreamers and players too, so we are stunned by how big and passionate community we have. This is the best we have - players. Thank you for helping us with CBT. Thank you for playing Trigon on stream and making game content. Thank you for providing feedback and suggestions. All these stories are diamonds. When players help us with localization in their native language, share a huge list of suggestions and game design documents, play OST on piano, and even this topic in which you ask and want to get to the bottom of the truth, and not just skip the game due to mixed reviews - all this gives us the power to continue to expand Trigon.
Hope you will enjoy your Space Stories.
So it might have gotten bad reviews prior to patches that focused on feedbacks I see. Again, rarely people change their reviews
You can try the demo and see for yourself.
And then you had those rushing to fight the gate boss and losing terribly. People tried to tell them that you have to take your time and level up first but they couldn't wait to be hero's and gave the game trash reviews. It was hit hard and the game didn't deserve those bad reviews.
Now it's levelling out as new players give it a try, and of course a lot of the bugs have been dealt with and balance issues addressed.
i see, so after all reviews were unreliable, im trying the demo, didnt noticed it, im enjoying, will get.
But worst off the game is in all ways, shapes, and forms FTL with a shiny coat and a little bit rotten core. There are some minor differences (needing to track fuel and supplies, having a more free-form escape from the oncoming fleet, leveling characters); but those differences are so superficial they don't make up for the negatives over just playing FTL (the sloppy controls, the sloppy controls, the sloppy controls (yes that's how bad), the atrocious writing, the lack of variability over FTL (every game of mine felt the same)).
I wanted to love this game, but I just can't.
Hi, Sernur.
I flirt with Trigon since idk when, but what stops me from buying it is the fear it will end up repetitive. I love difficulty, so it wouldn't be a problem, but it seems, judging by the lives I watched, there isn't much variation of what to do, like, the battles looked the same.
Space Crew, for example, get's boring after a while, what they tried to fix adding more variations in activities.
Also, why nobody sits? Looks tiresome haha (for real, it's weird).
