How to use drones?

i have the drone room buyed but it seems iam unable to start them and yes i have enough energy iam confused.

looks like you need a special item named "drone replicant" to be able to launch drones

you need to buy the subsystem for them. there is usually a space station in each zone. they have a chance to have the system. buy it with creds and you are good to go.

i have the subsystem and i have a drone equipped in it but iam unable to provide energy to the drone even tho i have enough energy

Do drones need some kind of ammo?
because it always says empty in the UI

might be a bug, the game is really buggy and broken. we will probably see a patch or something soon.

One of the things I have already touched upon was the lack of information when it comes to weapons systems and ammo. It's not suppose to be 'let's take a lucky guess' your the captain of the ship you should know how to use your weapons.

ive only used drones in one of my plays so far. but how i got the combat drone to work was
1. buy subsystem
2.buy drone type
3. buy the drone replicator (tennis ball looking thing in store for cheap)

the drone subsystem uses the balls to make each drone for each battle.
im not sure what the defense drones do but the combat ones pop off shots randomly

Ive beaten the first chapter and have encountered no bugs so far. Except the mantis dudes that liked to kick my ass.

Thanks for your edit, this has been confusing me to no end this run!

Each time you want to activate a drone, it needs a "drone replicant" in your inventory to start. The "drone replicant" is gone after the fight.
