Unravel 2 Launch problem
So..I got the game on Steam. I launched it yesterday, for the 1st time. And it worked.
Today I launch it again, Origin starts, and a pop-up window appears saying That the game is not installed.
So now, it wont let me launch the game. If i press download in Origin, the same pop up windows appears. What is this? why does Origin not launch the game if it's installed on steam.
I tried relocating Origins install directory to steams, and still no launch.

Hi, yes I did. I uninstalled steam and origin (also deleted all the maps manually). Then I reinstalled them both.
After that I launched the Unravel 2 installation from Origin. When i clicked download (in Origin), Steam opened up, and installed the game. It's working now.

This sounds promising. But it will require more tinkering on Linux, and I hate to waste anytime on issues artificially imposed by EA and similar monopoles.

I uninstall and reinstall steam client and the game. It does not work on any of the proton versions I have. Which version of Proton is the best to play this game if it is still possible to play on Linux?

Hi there, I don't have any experience doing this on Linux. But you should try uninstalling steam and also origin. Don't forget to delete all the maps. Then install them again.
That's how it worked for me (on windows).

Did you do anything to make the game appear on origin? I don't have it. I also don't get the error popup, game just close itself

No, the game was already in Origin. Does that happen often?

happened every time, I still don't have the game on origin... turns out the crash was due to missing video codec that doesn't come with the game, solved by installing the k-lite codec pack
