Next Level?

I beat four levels and can see two more that I cannot enter.
Is the next level hidden somewhere or do I have to collect every single secret just to continue? If the latter was the case, I would like this critical information to get telegraphed by the game. Otherwise that is really bad design.

You dont need secrets to go to next level. completing a level unlocks the next one. if you only completed four levels you shoud see three levels on top of each other. Heres the order of the levels.

Chapter 1: Thistle and Weeds

Chapter 2: The Sea

Chapter 3: Berry Mire

Chapter 4: Mountain Trek

Chapter 5: Off the Rails

Chapter 6: Down in a Hole

Chapter 7: How Much is Enough

Chapter 8: The Letter

Chapter 9: Winter Sun

Chapter 10: Rust

Chapter 11: Last Leaf

Chapter 12: Renewed

Well thanks.
Turns out I did not finish the level I rage quitted on last week. I was dumped in the level hub upon restart and I considered that level to be done since I already visited it. There should be a hint what level you finished at the entrance itself, not at the album.
